Week 3 roundup..... here is your scoresheet:
And here are the updated standings... everyone played a game, but no one managed to move on the standings board. Apparently everyone is happy where they are at.... fine then. We'll see about that this weekend..... first weekend of NFL bye weeks, and we'll see if that trips up any of the USFL teams.
I would be remiss if i did not update my picks..... i went 3-5 this week, this leaves me at 16-8 on the season... i do not wish to talk about it.
See you in a couple days to kick off week 4.

WEEK 3 / PART 1
Week 3 is here, and there are some pretty good matchups coming. 2-0 Birmingham travels to 2-0 Philadelphia to see who really sits atop the Atlantic Division, and 2-0 Memphis heads to 1-1 New Jersey hoping to stay unbeaten. In the west, the game to keep an eye on is 1-1 Los Angeles versus 2-0 Michigan.... the Express look to bounce back after being upset by Pittsburgh last week.
This week i put my 13-3 picks record on the line with these selections.....
JAX over TB
MEM over NJ
ORL over WASH
PHIL over BIRM
PIT over PORT
OAK over DEN
ARIZ over OKL
and my upset special: LA over MICH
OK, we'll see you when this week's slate of games is complete.

WEEK 2 / PART 2
Wow, what a week.... got back from Maine and went right into play rehearsals, and on top of that picked up a cold, so i have really lapsed on the league this week. We'll get it all wrapped up here, and then post another about week3....
For starters, Week 2 POW was Tennessee's Chris Johnson, who plays for Michigan in the USFL. My picks record for the week was 6-2, leaving me 13-3 on the season. Here is the scoresheet for week 2:
And here are the standings after week 2:

WEEK 1 / PART 3 (WRAP-UP)
OK, week 1 is in the books. Here's the score sheet showing all the results of the games, and let's you see who is playing for whom....
Week 1's POW (player of the week) is Drew Brees of the Los Angeles Express.
And here is the standings board....
I went 7-1 in my picks for week one's games, only missing on the Jacksonville - Birmingham game.... not too shabby considering I had no clue how the scoring would work itself out with the new rules this year.
Week 2 is just around the corner, and the updates probably won't happen until Sunday night, as i will be out of town for the weekend. I will try to get the match-ups posted tomorrow night, along with my picks.

WEEK 1 / PART 2
Well it's been an exciting kickoff weekend so far.... the game scores are a little more realistic this season so far, so i'm happy. One game is complete, another is decided as far as the winner is concerned, and the others are pretty close and should be down to the wire with Monday night's games. Here's how things stand as of right now:
Pittsburgh 19 (no players left)
Arizona 13 (Brady & Gates left to play)
Oakland 21 (Welker, NE defense)
Michigan 15 (Moss, Kaeding)
Los Angeles 58 (no players left)
Denver 35 (Owens)
Portland 36
Oklahoma 31 Final
Birmingham 39 (no players left)
Jacksonville 25 (Rivers)
Orlando 27 (no players left)
New Jersey 9 (Tomlinson)
Memphis 22 (Jackson SD, Gostowski)
Washington 18 (no players left)
Philadelphia 40 (no players left)
Tampa Bay 18 (San Diego Defense)
So as you can see, a couple could end up nail biters, while others have very little shot of being competitive at this point, but all in all a great start to a season. I'll be back tomorrow night to wrap up week 1.

USFL WEEK 1
Here we go, week 1 starts tomorrow night, so here's what's on tap for the USFL fantasy league.
Week 1 game of the week is Jacksonville vs. Birmingham. The game features Phillip Rivers, Brian Westbrook, and Reggie Wayne for the Bulls, and Ben Roethlisberger, Joseph Addai, and Larry Fitzgerald for the Stallions.
In an effort to keep the scores more realistic, this season I've increased the number of yards needed to get points, as well as allowed each team to start only one running back and one wide receiver. The scoring method is as follows:
6 PTS FOR RUN/REC TD
4 PTS FOR PASSING TD
1 PT FOR EVERY 50 RUSH/REC YARDS
1 PT FOR EVERY 100 PASS YARDS
1 PT FOR TURNOVER
2 PTS FOR A SAFETY
PREDICTIONS: I'm going to keep this simple and only pick the winner, because I have no idea how the scoring will work out...
JACKSONVILLE OVER BIRMINGHAM
ORLANDO OVER NEW JERSEY
MEMPHIS OVER WASHINGTON
PHILADELPHIA OVER TAMPA BAY
ARIZONA OVER PITTSBURGH
MICHIGAN OVER OAKLAND
LOS ANGELES OVER DENVER
PORTLAND OVER OKLAHOMA
At the end of the week, i'll scan the scoresheets so you can see who's on the teams and who did the scoring.
I'm excited, here we go... check back to see how the games turn out!
