USFL fantasy league
The USFL fantasy league i ran this year ended today with the championship game... the participants were the New Orleans Breakers, 10-5 on the season, versus the Arizona Wranglers who finished 11-4 on the year. The final score saw the Wranglers hold on to win 28-22.

USFL fantasy league 2011
Here we go... football starts Thursday, so fantasy football starts Thursday as well, and this year i'll be running an 18 team USFL version. Every team has only 6 positions on the roster with no backups... QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and D/ST. When a player hits his bye week, i'll plug in a player (the teams record will dictate who gets the better player off the reserve list if there are more than one team that needs a bye filled). Then, the player will be dropped back into the reserve pool after the regular starters bye week is over. I had to think long and hard to figure this system out just so i could have all 18 USFL teams from 1984 (the math dictated that there really should only be 16 teams so every team could have at least 2 possible starters per position - since there are 32 NFL teams). I think it'll work fine, and i'm looking forward to it.
Here's a picture i made for the cover of my fantasy notebook.... i took pictures of my mini helmets to create it. It's just cool enough that i bet i see it pop up as profile pics on facebook USFL groups, as some of my other USFL helmet photos have been.... oh well, at least my helmets are being seen by people:)

pencil drawings done while on vacation
Here's a couple pencil drawings i did while down in Texas.
Rick Neuheisel (current UCLA coach) back in his playing days in the USFL with the San Antonio Gunslingers..... appropriate since i was in Texas:)
My favorite baseball player as a kid (and still for that matter) George Brett. My first baseball artwork that was done just for myself (done a few for friends).... kinda got back into it this year.

SELF-MADE FOOTBALL BOARD GAME
So i gathered up some cork board, sticker paper on which i created my own field from scratch on the PC, 20 sided dice and some pieces from another board game i had that took way more time than i wanted to invest to play, and created my own board game. the games take a little under a half an hour to play, and the couple i have played have ended with pretty realistic scores, so i guess the 20 play outcome charts i had to come up with turned out pretty accurate. i'm pretty proud of it, and have started a World Football League simulation using it (since lately i've been obsessed with the WFL in my paintings) and will post game summaries, results and stories here. here's a picture of it. let me know what you think....
