Left to right: Owens (Chicago), Cutler (Denver), Johnson (New Jersey), Bradford (Arizona)
Training camps are underway, and the USFL has made some pretty big splashes with player signings. The plan was not to go after many big name NFL stars, and we didn't. That didn't stop some of those stars from going after us though. Terrell Owens signed with the Chicago Blitz, Jay Cutler stayed in Denver after all, but not with the NFL.... he's the newest member of the Gold. Larry Johnson inked a deal with the New Jersey Generals, and 24 years after signing their 3rd straight Heisman winner, the USFL announced that the Arizona Wranglers signed reigning Heisman winner Sam Bradford of Oklahoma. Bradford will be throwing to former Cardinal Anquan Boldin, who wanted to stay in Arizona, but couldn't work out a deal with the Cards. The rest of the signings seem to be former NFL stars who have found their way out of the senior league in one way or another, and rookies who decided they wanted the opportunity to play close to home and the fans they know so well.
Here's a breakdown of the biggest names as far as who's playing for whom this season:
