Custom McFarlane - color coded pants!

well, here it is.... see what i have unleashed! in the WFL preseason in 1975 the league decided to experiment with color coded pants so the casual observer could grow more familiar with the game. the running backs wore green, the linebackers red, defensive linemen blue, quarterbacks and kickers white with stars, etc. Most veterans refused to wear them so they only tried it out during pre-game warm-ups from what i understand. Below is an actual picture from those warm-ups between the So. California Sun and the Philadelphia Bell, and then pics of my creation. It's running back Anthony Davis of the Sun hurdling linebacker Ron Porter of the Bell. Kind of makes you want to claw your eyes out doesn't it?  I love weird stuff like this:)

  1. Seeing these goofy pants brings to mind Philly Bell's Vince Papale's hilarious reaction to the memory of this oddball WFL invention. They made the players look like Shakespearean court jesters! :) ps: Do you make these fantastic McFarlane figures? If & when I can ever conjure up some dinero, I would love to purchase some figurines of some of my favorite WFL players. Cheers! (ps: True Blue Frog aka Gilbert Thomas Vela, your newest blog follower...cool stuff!)
